The present Simple for Business English

We use the Present Simple to talk about:

If something is regulartrue, or does not change, the Present Simple is usually correct.

Use the base form of the verb.

  • work in HR.
  • You speak English very well.
  • We have a team meeting on Mondays.
  • They travel for work.

Add -s to the verb.

  • He leads → leads a small team.
  • She writes → writes reports.
  • It takes → takes 20 minutes to walk to the office.

Because English marks the third person singular (he/she/it) with a small change.

Use do not or does not.
